Q: Do I have to know how to dance the Balboa or Blues to come?
A: Absolutely not! Come just dance and have a good time! Please be respectful of your dancing neighbors and share the space 😉 Or, simply come and enjoy a cocktail, admire the view, watch, and socialize!
Q: Where can I park?
A: Street parking is free after 8pm downtown.
If you plan on drinking, please plan accordingly and drink responsibly. The Temperance Bar is only 1.5 blocks from the Pioneer Square Link Lightrail Station, and about 4 blocks from the First Hill Streetcar.
Q: This happens in a bar… is it 21+?
A: Because this is an evening event at Smith Tower, we are limiting it to 21+
Q: How do tickets for the event work?
A: A regular priced ticket to get up to the Temperance Bar normally costs $10. We are adding a $5 extra event fee for Live Music each time, so tickets will cost $15 for this very special once-a-month evening.
Tickets can be purchased at the front desk on the 1st Floor, OR you may purchase them ahead of time online to guarantee your spot (strongly suggested).
Your ticket gets you up in the single historic elevator that goes to the 35th floor speakeasy bar, featuring an incredible view of the city, live swing music entertainment, dancing, and socializing fun for 3 hours!
*The capacity of the Temperance Bar is around 80, so make sure you buy your tickets ONLINE in ADVANCE to GUARANTEE your spot at the event!! Once it’s sold out, it’s sold out.
Tickets can be purchased at:
Q: Does the Temperance Bar have food?
A: They do! Check out their delicious menu HERE! Their cocktails are local-themed and spectacular as well.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Most attendees choose to dress-up a bit for this evening in 1930s/40s attire, but you can also come in what you normally wear to a social dance or a fancy night of cocktails. Dressing up is half the fun!
Please don’t wear shoes that will scuff up the floor, and no tap shoes are allowed on the Temperance Bar floor.
Q: Are tickets transferable?
A: Yep! Feel free to give/sell your ticket to a friend, or post on the Facebook event and see who needs one! As capacity is limited, there’s probably someone else who would desperately love your ticket. Due to high demand, we do not keep a waiting list.
